Event ID – 55 Error Message – NTFS

The file system structure on the disk is corrupt and unusable. Please run the chkdsk utility on the volume.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..

Cause:

This message generate considering multiple parameter.

1. The installed driver is culprit which is misbehaving.
2. Most of the time it is observed that the MPIO drive misbehave in cluster environment and generate the error messages and make the dsk unavailalbe.
3. Due to SAN Switch port failover even if redundant port configured you will get the alarms.

Solution:

Once you check all the above mentioned configuration than coordinate with respective track and ask them to resolve the issue even in certain cases due to failover or restart the probem arise and sesolve automatically than restart the cluster service once to refresh the cluster on a active node.
Note: Hope above troubleshooting points resolve your problem.

SQL Server 2008R2 Setup “Error 0x80070490”

Getting below error while installing SQL Server 2008 R2 in cluster.

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

SQL Server Setup has encountered the following error: Element not found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80070490)

……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………

Solution:

The above error usually come, if there is offline disks in the custer which you can see when you connect to Failover Cluster Manager and than go to Storage tab. (Some times disk was remove from both the Nodes and it is present in cluster storage in a offline or Failed state). Now Remove the Offline or Failed disks and re-run the installer and Fix the problem.

If still any confusion to find the offline disk than follow the below steps.

  1. GOTO Failover Cluster Manager from Administration tools.
  2. Expand the Cluster Group.
  3. Left hand side you will be able to see the Storage under cluster Instance.
  4. When you click on Storage tab Right Hand side you will be able to see all the disk.
  5. Now you can see the Offline Disk. Delete the disk. Now you need to remove the disk at OS level as well once it is removed from both the nodes.
  6. Run Cluster Validation from failover cluster manager, Validation report for cluster will pass, there would be some warning s which you can ignore.
  7. Run SQL server 2008 R2 on each node and you will be able to deploy the SQL cluster.

How to find SQL Server License type!

I got  question from one of my friend that “How to check the license type in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 via SQL server.”

Solution:

There are multiple methods in SQL Server to find the license type in SQL server.

Before SQL Server 2008 R2 there used to be properties maintained  but in SQL Server 2012,  you can get the information from SQL Server error logs as when required.

Refer the below TSQL.

…………………………………………………………………………

exec xp_readerrorlog 0 ,1 , N'Edition'

…………………………………………………………………………

Output looks something like this in Result Frame.

SQL Server could not spawn FRunCommunicationsManager thread. Check the SQL Server error log and the Windows event logs for information about possible related problems.

Reason:

SQL start though A domain accountStatus=Temporary

Windows Server 2012 position: Control Panel –> system –> Advanced system settings –> Advanced –> User Profiles –>Settings

Solution:

Step 1: Change the SQL start-up account into local system.

Step 2: Rename the Profile of the Service Account.

Step 3: Login in server with the Service account to recreate the profile.

Step 4: Change the service account backup to  domain account through which SQL services were running.

Step 5: Start the services from Cluster group.

MySQL 1032 and 1062 Error

I have updated the MYSQL using “mysql_upgrade” command and after that getting  error “1032 and 1062”. We can ignore it, until replication has continued without error:

Refer the below steps :-

  1. Edit the my.conf file

Vi /etc/my.cnf

2. Than enter the below parameter in the My.cnf file.

slave-skip-errors=1062

slave-skip-errors=1032

3. Save the file and restart the MYSQL service.

service mysql restart

4. Check the replication status

mysql -u User_Name -p

mysql > show slave status \G

Now check the output, ideally no error reported in the “show slave status \G” output. Also create the a table Master database and add some value in table. Replicate the table in slave and check the status. Table has to replicate and visible in Slave DB.

Note: “slave-skip-errors” might cause some data consistency so remove the parameter from “My.cf” and restart the mysql service.

Please note it may work in your environment before applying the above steps go through the error log.

The “Cluster Service” service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 6 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 960000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

Environment:

Windows Server 2008 R2 “2” Node cluster configured on 2 physical server with Network teaming.

Problem:

The Cluster Service “service” terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 6 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 960000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

Event ID : 7031

Solution:

Step 1. Generate the cluster log to understand the issue that where is the problem.

To generate the cluster log execute the below mention command in CMD.

“Cluster log /g”

Refer the below screenshot..

cluster_log-01

Once cluster log file generated than go to the cluster folder which is located in Windows folder.

cluster_log-02

Step 2: Go through the log file and try to find the error message in cluster.log.

From the above message it seems some issue with RPC to resolve follow the below steps.

Step 3:
GO TO “Start > Run > REGEDIT”
Than Navigate to “HKLM\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\RPC\INTERNET”
Now before taking any action take Export to back it up first once Export backup done then delete the whole (Internet key and its sub-keys).
Final Step:
Reboot the system…
By doing above issue what i am getting is resolved. Requesting to visitor first correlate the issue and than try any resolution to avoid any major issue in your environment.

Windows 2012 cluster Fails with Error message Receive : There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request

While Creating Windows 2012 cluster getting Error Message:

“There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request”
Cluster Error

After troubleshooting the issue, Problem was identified that port 445, 464 “TCP/UDP” is blocked at firewall end from database Node and Active Directory.

Role of 465 and 464 port

“Replication, User and Computer Authentication, Group Policy SMB,CIFS,SMB2, DFSN, LSARPC, NbtSS, NetLogonR, SamR, SrvSvc”

After opening the port at firewall end. I tried to create the cluster and created successfully.

Port which required for creating cluster and adding the node in Active Directory.

Database Mirroring cannot be Enabled!!

One of my college is trying to configure database mirroring in SQL Server 2008R2 instance and getting the error message.

Error Msg 1469 “Database mirroring cannot be enabled because the database is an auto close on one of the partners.”

Solution:

Based on the error message I asked to check the Properties of Database and parameter “auto-close” which is false as per him.

but even after he is getting the same error while starting the mirroring than I asked to share the output of TSQL

SELECT DATABASEPROPERTYEX(‘DBNAME’,’IsAutoClose’)

Output is “1” which means  the Auto-close is enabled to disable it use TSQL given below:

ALTER DATABASE DBNAME SET AUTO_CLOSE OFF

Once above process completed than again take the full backup of database and transaction log backup of Primary Database.

Restore the backup on secondary server and start the mirroring.
